Our family stayed here last weekend for a wedding, and it proved to be the perfect choice.

Redstones has managed to keep the very best aspects of a hostel - the welcoming, communal spaces where everyone could gather - while offering bedrooms and bathrooms of an exceptional standard. The rooms were spacious, beautifully presented, comfortable and felt genuinely high quality.

The breakfasts were plentiful, freshly cooked and an excellent start to each day. The outdoor space was another real bonus, especially in the lovely weather. It gave the children somewhere safe to play, provided a great setting for photographs before the wedding, and was ideal for everyone to relax together. The hotel also worked brilliantly as the venue for celebrating my 70th birthday, bringing the whole family together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where we were able to also bring in our own food, and decorations.

Above all, though, it was the people who made our stay so memorable. Sarah and Sori were incredibly helpful, supportive and welcoming throughout our visit. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their kindness made a real difference. A wonderful place to stay, whether for a family celebration or simply a relaxing break. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would happily return.

"Our Room was amazing, we staying in Room 1, the bed was so comfortable and slept so well.  The decor is very stylish and the shower was brilliant.

We wandered over to the local pub, The Stag Inn for a drink, so nice to be able to just walk over the village green back to the B&B.

Very peaceful and a lovely breakfast!  Will definitely stay again."

We stayed here before I tackled a long section of the Pennine Way. The room was immaculately clean and well provisioned. The whole place was wonderful. We were well looked after at breakfast and I was even given some pastries to take on the trek with me! We will definitely be back in the future.

Rooms - Very clean and comfortable. We got some lovely shortbread biscuits
Nearby activities - Great walking country, not far from High Cup Nick and is a perfect stopover on the Pennine Way as it has a drying room. The nearby village pub does good food.
